Syncthing

Syncthing is an open-source, decentralized file synchronization tool. It replaces proprietary cloud services with a direct device-to-device sync — your data is stored only where you choose, with no third-party involvement.

Syncthing is available on every Appbox and replaces BTSync as the recommended sync tool.

Getting started

Install Syncthing from your box dashboard by clicking Install Application, finding Syncthing, filling in a password and pressing Install App. After a few seconds it will be configured and ready to use.

Version management

Syncthing includes a built-in updater. Once installed, you can upgrade to newer versions directly from the Syncthing web UI without waiting for a server-wide update.

Known issues

⚠️ Do not enable "Use HTTPS for GUI" in Syncthing settings. There is a redirect bug that will make your Syncthing web interface inaccessible until you reinstall the app.
