The May 2026 Cache Filter, Explained Plainly

What happened

In May 2026 Real-Debrid rolled out a renewed copyright filename filter. As reported by TorrentFreak and TroyPoint, this made a large share of users' cached files unavailable. Libraries that had worked for months suddenly had gaps because the content was filtered out of the shared cache.

Why it could happen at all

This is the trade-off of a shared cache. You do not own the storage, so the provider can change what is available to you. When the filter changed, nothing on the user's side changed. The files simply stopped resolving. That is a structural feature of how a debrid service works, not a one-off bug.

Why a seedbox is not exposed to this
