Setup on Bytesized

2. Access via the provided HTTPS URL
3. Upload your existing photo library via SFTP or WebDAV

Uploading Photos

From your computer: Use SFTP to upload your photo folders to the PhotoPrism storage directory. PhotoPrism scans and indexes automatically.

From your phone: PhotoPrism supports WebDAV. Use any WebDAV-capable photo sync app (like PhotoSync on iOS/Android) to auto-upload new photos from your camera roll.

From cloud storage: If your photos are currently on Google Photos or iCloud, use Google Takeout or Apple's export tool to download them, then SFTP to your seedbox. Once on PhotoPrism, they're yours forever.

Storage Considerations

Photos and especially RAW files can use significant storage:

A 10,000 photo JPEG library needs roughly 50GB. With RAW files, plan for 200-500GB. Bytesized plans up to 32TB+ have plenty of room for both media and photos.

Privacy

This is the core reason to self-host photos. Google Photos scans every image for AI training. iCloud syncs to Apple's servers. PhotoPrism runs entirely on your seedbox:
