The Complete Arr Stack Guide (2026): Sonarr, Radarr, Prowlarr & More

Sonarr, Radarr, Prowlarr, Lidarr, Bazarr — how they work together, how to set them up on a seedbox, and configuration tips for the perfect automation pipeline.

What Is the Arr Stack?

The "Arr stack" is a collection of open-source apps that automate media management:

App Purpose
Sonarr TV show automation — monitors, downloads, and organizes episodes
Radarr Movie automation — same as Sonarr but for films
Prowlarr Indexer manager — connects your trackers/indexers to Sonarr and Radarr
Lidarr Music automation
Readarr Book/audiobook automation
Bazarr Subtitle automation — downloads matching subtitles for your media

Together, they create a fully automated pipeline: you add a show or movie to your watchlist, and it appears in your Plex/Jellyfin library — downloaded, organized, renamed, with subtitles.

The Workflow

Prowlarr → finds releases on indexers/trackers
    ↓
Sonarr/Radarr → picks the best quality match
    ↓
Download client (rTorrent/Deluge/qBittorrent) → fetches the file
    ↓
Sonarr/Radarr → renames and moves to library folder
    ↓
Plex/Jellyfin → scans and adds to your library
    ↓
Bazarr → finds and downloads matching subtitles

Setup on Bytesized

On most seedbox providers, setting up the Arr stack means hours of Docker configuration, path mapping, and network debugging. On Bytesized, it's one click per app.

  1. Open the Bytesized Panel
  2. Install: Prowlarr, Sonarr, Radarr, and your download client
  3. Done — they're pre-configured to work together

Bytesized's Docker platform handles the networking between apps automatically. Sonarr knows where Radarr is. Prowlarr connects to both. The download client is already accessible. Paths are shared.

This is what 15+ years of seedbox hosting experience looks like — we've refined this workflow with thousands of users. Rated 4.8/5 on Trustpilot from 230+ reviews.

Configuring Prowlarr

Prowlarr is your indexer hub. Add your trackers and indexers here, and they're automatically available in Sonarr and Radarr.

  1. Open Prowlarr from the dashboard
  2. Add indexers: public trackers (1337x, RARBG successors) or private trackers
  3. Add Sonarr and Radarr as apps under Settings → Apps
  4. Prowlarr syncs your indexers to both automatically

FlareSolverr: If your indexers use Cloudflare protection, install FlareSolverr from the Bytesized Panel. Add it as a proxy in Prowlarr and it handles the captcha challenges.

Configuring Sonarr & Radarr

Quality Profiles

Set up quality profiles to control what gets downloaded:

Root Folders

Set your root folders to match your Plex/Jellyfin library structure:

On Bytesized, all apps share the same storage mount, so paths are consistent.

Download Client

Under Settings → Download Clients, add your torrent client. On Bytesized, the connection details are pre-filled — just save.

Adding Bazarr for Subtitles

Bazarr monitors your Sonarr and Radarr libraries and automatically downloads subtitles from OpenSubtitles, Subscene, and other providers.

  1. Install Bazarr from the dashboard
  2. Connect it to Sonarr and Radarr
  3. Set your preferred languages
  4. Bazarr downloads subtitles as new media arrives

Advanced: TRaSH Guides and Recyclarr

For optimal quality profiles and custom formats, the TRaSH Guides are the community standard. They define quality scoring rules that ensure you always get the best release available.

Recyclarr automates this — it syncs TRaSH custom formats and quality profiles to your Sonarr and Radarr instances automatically. Install it on Bytesized and your quality settings stay current.

Advanced: Cross-Seeding with Autobrr

For private tracker users who want to maximize ratio:

Both are available on Bytesized.
