Which Seedbox Hosts Have the Best Reviews? We Read Their Trustpilot Pages

The short answer

If you only count hosts with at least 50 Trustpilot reviews, five of them score 4.6 or better: Bytesized (4.9), ElfHosted (4.9), Ultra.cc (4.8), GigaRapid (4.8) and Evoseedbox (4.6). RapidSeedbox (4.4) and Pulsed Media (4.3) come next. Appbox (3.3) and Seedhost (2.1) are a long way behind. Some well-known names, Whatbox and Feral Hosting among them, don't have enough reviews for their score to mean anything.

Yes, that puts us at the top of a list we wrote. So don't take the ranking on trust. Every number below comes from the host's own public Trustpilot page, read on 13 September 2026, and the rest of this guide is about the ways a score can mislead you, including ours.

The table

Two hosts people often ask about aren't in it. I couldn't find a Trustpilot page for HostingByDesign at all, and the page for dediseedbox.com is listed under a different company name with a single review, so there's nothing there to compare.

The top group has 50 reviews or more and is sorted by score. The bottom group has fewer than 50 and is sorted by how many reviews there are, because below 50 the score barely means anything. That split matters more than the scores themselves.

How to read a TrustScore without getting fooled

Count first, score second

With a handful of reviews, one angry customer moves the score by a full point. Whatbox's 4.0 is three reviews. Seedbox.io's 3.0 is ten, and the newest of them is from 2022. Neither number tells you whether those hosts are any good, in either direction. I'd want at least 50 reviews before a score says much, and a few hundred before it says a lot. Ultra.cc's 4.8 from over a thousand reviews is a harder number to argue with than anyone's 4.9 from a few hundred, ours included.

Check the date of the newest review

A score is an average of everything since the profile started. GigaRapid's 4.8 is real, but its newest review is from December 2023, so it tells you about support nearly three years ago. Our newest is from 2 August 2026. Ultra.cc's and ElfHosted's are from this week. If a host's newest review is years old, look for something more recent before you decide.

Unclaimed profiles mostly hear from unhappy people

When a company hasn't claimed its Trustpilot page, nobody there is answering reviews or pointing happy customers at it. The people who go looking for the page on their own are often the ones with a problem. Seedhost's 2.1 from 53 reviews and Feral Hosting's 3.3 are both on unclaimed pages. That doesn't mean the scores are wrong. It means they probably lean negative, so read what the reviews actually say.

Invited reviews tend to score higher

Trustpilot tells you whether a company invites its customers to leave reviews. ElfHosted's page says it does. Almost every other page in the table, ours included, says the company hasn't invited customers recently or at all, with a note that the reviews may not be representative. Invitations bring in the happy customers who'd never have bothered on their own, so invited scores tend to run higher. Nobody is cheating here, but compare invited with invited where you can.

Read the replies to the bad reviews

The reply rate sits on the page, and it's the closest thing Trustpilot has to a support test. Appbox has replied to every negative review, usually within a day. RapidSeedbox has replied to 70% of them and Pulsed Media to 57%. Ultra.cc and Evoseedbox haven't replied to theirs. Don't stop at the percentage, though. Open two or three of the one-star reviews and see whether the host fixed the problem or only explained why it wasn't their fault.

What reviews won't tell you

A 4.9 host is still the wrong host if the plan doesn't fit. Before you pay anyone, check these on their site, not on a review page.

Storage, bandwidth and transcodes. Our Appbox Lite is €5 a month for 500 GB with 3 TB of bandwidth and two Plex transcodes. At the top end the R240 +Archive gives you up to 32 TB. If your library is 4 TB today, a cheap plan with a great score won't hold it.

Redundancy. Our Appbox plans say "No redundancy" on the plans page, because there isn't any. A dead disk can take your files with it, whatever the host's score, so ask any host what happens to your data when a disk fails, and keep a second copy of anything you can't download again.

How you get out. Read the refund policy before you need it. Ours is a pro-rata refund in the first 48 hours, requested through a ticket. Crypto payments can't be refunded, so if you want to try us out, pay with PayPal.

How you reach support. Our ticket system takes questions at any hour, and there's a Discord where our staff and other customers answer questions. Some hosts run live chat, some only email. Pick the one you'd actually use when something breaks at 11 at night.

Whether the apps you want are one click. Reviews rarely mention it until it goes wrong. Check the host's app list for the exact apps you plan to run. Ours is at /apps/overview.

Where that leaves us

We've been running since 2009, and we're at 4.9 from 300+ reviews on Trustpilot, on a page that Trustpilot lists as not inviting reviews. That's the honest case. It's also true that Ultra.cc has several times as many reviews at 4.8, and that our newest review is six weeks old while theirs is from this week.
