Nextcloud

Nextcloud is an open-source self-hosted file sharing and collaboration platform. It turns your Appbox into a Dropbox-like service, accessible from any browser or the official desktop/mobile apps. It also supports calendars, contacts, document editing and much more.

Nextcloud is the successor to OwnCloud on Bytesized. If you were using OwnCloud, Nextcloud is the recommended replacement.

Tips and tricks

Accessing your downloaded files

To browse and share files from your download folder directly in Nextcloud, enable the External Storage Support app:

Step 1 — Go to Apps and activate External Storage Support.

Step 2 — Go to Administration → External Storage and add your Appbox as an SFTP mount, pointing to your download folder (e.g. ~/torrents/data/).

You can now browse your downloaded files in Nextcloud and share them with external links.

⚠️ Note: Any files uploaded directly through Nextcloud will be deleted if you uninstall the app. Files in your download folder accessed via External Storage are not affected.
