Before You Start

1. Keep your Ultra.cc account active during migration
2. Note your Ultra.cc SFTP credentials (found in your Ultra.cc control panel)
3. Sign up for Bytesized

Step 1: Transfer Media

Server-to-Server with Rclone

Install Rclone on Bytesized (one-click). Configure an SFTP remote to Ultra.cc:

rclone sync ultracc:/home/username/media/ /data/ --progress --transfers 4

Ultra.cc supports rsync, SFTP, and FTP — all work for the transfer.

Transfer Times

Run the transfer in a screen/tmux session so it continues if your browser disconnects.

Step 2: Move App Settings

Ultra.cc supports Sonarr, Radarr, and Prowlarr — same apps available on Bytesized.

1. On Ultra.cc: Sonarr → System → Backup → Create and download
2. On Bytesized: Install Sonarr (one click) → System → Backup → Restore
3. Update root folder paths and download client connection
4. Repeat for Radarr and Prowlarr

Step 3: Re-Add Torrents

Ultra.cc typically uses rTorrent or Deluge. Export your .torrent files and session data, transfer to Bytesized, import into your new client, and force recheck.

Stop seeding on Ultra.cc before starting on Bytesized for the same torrents.

Step 4: Switch Media Server

Install Plex or Jellyfin on Bytesized (one click). Add library folders, scan media. Plex watch history syncs automatically via your account.

Step 5: Verify and Cancel

Confirm everything works, then cancel Ultra.cc.
