What Tunarr Does

Tunarr creates custom live TV channels from your existing media library. Instead of browsing and choosing what to watch, you flip to a channel that's always playing.

Think of it as building your own cable TV lineup:

• Channel 1: 90s Sitcoms (Friends, Seinfeld, Frasier on shuffle)
• Channel 2: Marvel Movie Marathon
• Channel 3: Anime (rotating through your collection)
• Channel 4: Late Night Comedy Specials

Each channel plays 24/7 with randomized scheduling. Tune in whenever you want — something's always on.

How It Works

1. Tunarr connects to your Plex or Jellyfin library
2. You create channels and assign media (shows, movies, or playlists)
3. Tunarr generates an M3U playlist and emulates an HDHomeRun tuner
4. Plex or Jellyfin discovers it as a Live TV source
5. Your channels appear in the Live TV guide

Setup on Bytesized

1. Install Tunarr from the dashboard (one click)
2. Connect to your Plex or Jellyfin server under Settings → Libraries
3. Create your first channel
4. Add Tunarr as an HDHomeRun tuner in your media server

Creating a Channel

1. Click New Channel
2. Name it (e.g., "Comedy Night")
3. Add programs: drag in TV shows, movies, or collections from your library
4. Set scheduling: shuffle, sequential, or time-based
5. Save — the channel starts streaming immediately

Adding to Plex

Go to Settings → Live TV & DVR → Set Up Plex DVR. Plex discovers Tunarr as a tuner device. Your custom channels appear alongside any IPTV channels from Dispatcharr.

Adding to Jellyfin

Go to Dashboard → Live TV and add the Tunarr tuner. Channels appear in the live TV guide.

Channel Ideas

Filler Content

Tunarr supports adding "filler" between programs — bumpers, commercials, or short clips that make the channel feel more like real TV. Upload short clips and assign them as filler for an authentic broadcast feel.
